Test Prints

As new printing presses were being introduced and made ready, the stamp printers developed some generic designs that were used to test the printing equipment. While these designs were produced in the format of postage stamps, they have no value or country name indicated on their face and they have no postal validity. While they were distributed freely to collectors as souvenirs by the postal service, they are generally considered to have little philatelic value.
