Postal Stationery

Following the issuance of the Tublibrief stamped envelopes in 1867, the Post Office added prepaid postal cards to its portfolio of postal stationery in 1870. The first issue in 1870 carried forward the design theme of a dove over a shield and cross. The dove was eliminated in the redesigned second issue of 1873.

In addition to stamps, the Swiss PTT has also issued a wide variety of Postal Stationery for the public's convenience including postcards, franked envelopes, newspaper wrappers, and aerogrammes.
