First Day Covers

Just as in the United States, Swiss philatelists enjoy including First Day covers in their collections. The Swiss do not have a wide variety of private cachet-makers as exist in the U.S. Instead, most cacheted first day covers are prepared officially by the Swiss PTT, which often includes embossing in the cachet design.
